Affirm and Adyen expand partnership to offer payment solutions in UK

20 Mar, 2025

Adyen, a global financial technology platform, has expanded its partnership with Affirm to the U.K., offering flexible payment solutions to merchants. Adyen’s U.K. merchants can now integrate Affirm’s pay-over-time options at checkout, giving customers access to both interest-free and interest-bearing installment plans. This partnership allows customers to choose payment schedules that suit their needs without hidden or late fees, enhancing customer satisfaction and driving business growth.

Nicole Olbe, Adyen's U.K. Managing Director, stated that Affirm’s payment options have already accelerated growth for merchants in the U.S. and Canada, and extending this service to the U.K. will offer similar benefits. She emphasized that Adyen’s customers demand best-in-class payment experiences to improve customer engagement and business performance, making the expansion with Affirm a strategic move.

Ruth Spratt, Vice President and U.K. Country Manager at Affirm, highlighted the advantages of this collaboration for U.K. businesses, noting that Adyen’s merchants can now offer more flexible, transparent, and long-term payment plans to their customers. She stressed that Affirm’s solutions are designed to help businesses grow while enabling consumers to manage their finances responsibly.

The Affirm-Adyen partnership initially launched in November 2020, allowing Adyen’s U.S. merchants to offer Affirm through websites, apps, and physical payment terminals. The partnership has seen significant growth, with average annual transaction volume increasing more than seven times between 2021 and 2023.

This expansion follows a recent milestone in December 2024 when Affirm’s pay-over-time solutions became available to Adyen for Platforms customers in the U.S. and Canada. Adyen merchants in Canada also gained access to a broader range of Affirm’s payment options. Affirm officially entered the U.K. market in November 2024 after receiving authorization from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Adyen merchants in the U.K. can explore how Affirm’s payment solutions can benefit their business by visiting the company’s official website.
