Seven leading global equipment manufacturers recently convened at FEDERUNACOMA in Italy for a two-day series of Agrievolution Alliance meetings with a primary focus on establishing guidelines for the monthly reporting of precision farming products for agriculture.
These meetings were conducted in tandem with the ongoing Agrievolution Digitalization Project, an initiative driven by the alliance to create a data exchange platform for identifying, quantifying, and monitoring the use of precision agricultural technologies in farming processes.
The objective of this digital exchange is to offer Agrievolution Alliance member companies a global perspective on emerging technologies, which are contributing to increasing levels of autonomous operation for agricultural machinery. It will also facilitate the identification of market potential and the adoption of advanced digital products in different countries. Rex Sprietsma, ASP Secretariat and Director of Statistics and Market Information at AEM, which acts as the Secretariat for the Agrievolution Statistics Program, emphasized the valuable insights that such data can provide for business strategy development. Establishing a digital exchange of information will enhance transparency across the entire value chain and help in setting industry standards.
The meetings, hosted at FEDERUNACOMA's headquarters in Bologna, Italy, involved significant work, including:
These face-to-face meetings with digital agriculture product specialists followed a series of virtual bi-weekly meetings where priorities for a worldwide monthly reporting program of key precision farming products were established.
FEDERUNACOMA takes pride in hosting the Agrievolution Alliance ASP Digital Committee for these vital meetings. Their preparation and the subsequent launch of worldwide statistics programs are expected to benefit member companies significantly. Marco Pezzini, European Affairs Secretary at FEDERUNACOMA, expressed the association's commitment to this effort.
The Agrievolution Statistics Program (ASP) is responsible for providing global, product-specific shipment data to the participating companies. It covers five products, and quarterly index data is accessible to all member companies affiliated with an Agrievolution Alliance member association. AEM, one of the 13 associations worldwide that constitute the Agrievolution Alliance, is actively involved in promoting the advantages of mechanization in sustainable global agriculture.
The Agrievolution Alliance serves as the global advocate for agricultural equipment manufacturers, comprising associations and organizations from around the world. Their mission is to support over 6,000 agriculture equipment manufacturer members, with a shared goal of promoting mechanization for sustainable agriculture worldwide. Many member associations within the Alliance conduct national statistics programs, and their member companies actively participate in the Agrievolution Statistics Program.
