State-owned BHEL announced on Wednesday that it has secured an order worth over ₹3,500 crore from Adani Power Limited to set up a thermal power project in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The agreement, signed on June 5, involves the supply of equipment such as boilers, turbines, and generators, as well as the supervision of erection and commissioning for a 2x800 MW power project based on Supercritical Technology, according to BHEL's exchange filing.
The total worth of the order, excluding GST, exceeds ₹3,500 crore. The boiler and turbine generator components will be manufactured at BHEL's Trichy and Haridwar plants, respectively, the company added. This significant contract underscores BHEL's capability in delivering large-scale power projects and reinforces its partnership with Adani Power, a key player in the energy sector.
This project is expected to boost power infrastructure in Chhattisgarh, contributing to the region's economic development. BHEL's expertise in Supercritical Technology will enhance the efficiency and reliability of the power plant, supporting India's growing energy demands while adhering to environmental standards.
