BHSI Launches Operations in Italy with New Leadership Team

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has officially launched its office in Milan, appointing Leonardo Castrichino as Country Manager for Italy. This strategic expansion marks BHSI's continued growth in Europe since the establishment of its first offices in 2016. Alessandro Cerase, Head of Europe at BHSI, expressed confidence in Castrichino’s leadership and the exceptional talent joining the Milan team, emphasizing the company's commitment to providing sustainable, long-term solutions in the marketplace.

Castrichino brings nearly 30 years of experience in the European insurance sector, having held significant leadership roles across various commercial lines. His previous position was Chief Operating Officer for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region at another insurer. Marco Vantellino has been appointed as Head of Executive & Professional Lines, bringing two decades of expertise focused on these areas. Thomas Tasso will oversee Property - Energy and Construction, while Nicoló Mussi takes charge of Commercial and Financial Institutions for Executive and Professional Lines.

Chiara Baldissara, previously an Underwriting Technician at BHSI in London, has been appointed as Operations Manager. BHSI plans to continue expanding its team in Milan, offering a comprehensive range of property, casualty, and executive & professional lines products.
