Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) reported record-breaking results for 2024, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global business hub. The venue welcomed 2.65 million attendees, reflecting a 7% increase from the previous year. This growth was fueled by a strong calendar of 378 business and consumer events, representing a 26% rise. The MICE segment played a key role, with 135 events attracting 2.03 million attendees, a 30% year-on-year increase. International participation also surged, with over 942,000 attendees, highlighting Dubai’s global appeal.

DWTC saw a significant increase in exhibiting companies, reaching 58,665, with 77% being international businesses. This aligns with Dubai’s Economic Agenda “D33,” aiming to establish the city as a leading destination for business and tourism. DWTC-organized exhibitions and events grew, drawing 590,000 attendees, including 242,000 international visitors. KAOUN International expanded DWTC’s global reach, successfully launching GITEX DIGI_HEALTH 5.0 in Singapore and strengthening GITEX AFRICA in Morocco.

Key industries driving MICE growth included Healthcare, attracting 465,000 attendees, marking a 69% increase. The Food and Hospitality sector followed, with 283,000 attendees, growing by 25%, while Information Technology events, led by GITEX, drew 281,000 attendees. Other high-performing sectors included Consumer Goods and Leisure, Sport, and Travel, contributing over 220,000 attendees.

The conference segment saw remarkable growth, hosting 25 events with nearly 90,000 participants, doubling from the previous year. Association meetings also expanded, welcoming 104,000 attendees. The Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) hosted 24 events, attracting 128,000 visitors, further strengthening Dubai’s event ecosystem. A major AED 10 billion expansion of DEC will enhance its capacity, positioning it as a global MICE leader.

DWTC’s economic contributions extended to real estate and free zone operations. A strategic partnership with Emaar led to the Expo Living development, while DWTC’s free zone added One Za’abeel, licensing 389 new businesses in 2024.
