Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), the region’s leading business hub, reported record-breaking performance in 2024, reinforcing Dubai’s global leadership in business events. DWTC welcomed 2.65 million attendees, marking a 7% year-on-year increase, driven by a robust calendar of 378 business and consumer events, reflecting a 26% growth. The MICE segment grew significantly, with events increasing from 107 in 2023 to 135 in 2024, attracting 2.03 million attendees, a 30% surge. International participation soared to 942,000, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a top business destination.
Exhibitor participation at DWTC events reached 58,665 companies, a 9% increase, with 77% being international businesses. These results align with Dubai’s Economic Agenda "D33" to position the city among the top three global business and tourism hubs. DWTC-organised exhibitions attracted 590,000 attendees, a 14% increase, with 242,000 being international. KAOUN International expanded DWTC’s footprint, with standout performances at GITEX AFRICA in Morocco and GITEX DIGI_HEALTH 5.0 Asia in Singapore.
Top-performing MICE sectors included Healthcare (465,000 attendees), Food & Catering (283,000 attendees), and Information Technology (281,000 attendees). The Consumer Goods and Leisure sectors also saw significant growth. DWTC hosted 25 conferences, doubling from 2023, attracting 90,000 participants. The Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) played a vital role, hosting 24 events with 128,000 attendees. DEC’s expansion, set for completion in 2026, will enhance Dubai’s event hosting capacity.
DWTC’s contribution extends beyond events, with strategic real estate partnerships and free zone expansions. Its collaboration with Emaar for Expo Living and high occupancy in commercial and residential properties highlight its growing influence. The Free Zone added One Za’abeel to its jurisdiction, licensing 389 new businesses. These achievements solidify DWTC’s role in advancing Dubai’s global economic vision.
