Diplomat Business Club in Dubai Extends a Warm Welcome to the President of the UK Law Society

During a captivating reception, Lubna Shuja, the President of the Law Society of England & Wales, received a heartfelt welcome from the Diplomat Business Club in Dubai. The event drew a diverse audience of British and Emirati legal experts, alongside entrepreneurs hailing from various countries within the UAE. Alison Hall, Deputy Consul General of the United Kingdom, was also in attendance.

Ambassador Javed Malik, the President of the Diplomat Business Club, expressed his admiration for Lubna Shuja as the first Asian and Muslim individual elected to the esteemed position of President within the apex body of lawyers in England and Wales. He lauded the Law Society's efforts in enhancing engagement with legal professionals in the UAE. The Diplomat Business Club demonstrated its enthusiasm for such initiatives that unite business minds and legal practitioners, fostering an environment ripe for productive collaboration. Ambassador Malik highlighted the immense value global law firms, with a significant UAE presence, can offer to companies operating across multiple jurisdictions.

Lubna Shuja, speaking at the occasion, conveyed her gratitude to the club and commended Dubai's status as a pivotal hub for UK-qualified solicitors. Many of these professionals work at global law firms regulated by the Law Society, as well as within in-house roles at major UAE-based corporations. Shuja's visit underscored the Law Society's dedication to strengthening connections in the region, as it forges deeper relationships with legal experts in the UAE. Deputy Consul General Alison Hall extended a warm welcome to the President of the Law Society and her delegation, recognizing their role in expanding bilateral relations. This sentiment echoes the growing collaborative spirit between the UK and the UAE.
