Chinese companies are increasingly viewing Dubai as a strategic gateway to the Middle East, driven by the city’s ambitious D33 initiatives. Announced in January 2023, the D33 economic agenda aims to double Dubai's GDP by 2033, focusing on industrial growth and export expansion. This has opened up new collaboration opportunities between China and Dubai, building on a long-standing historical connection that dates back to the Silk Road and continues through the Belt and Road Initiative.
The Dubai Business Forum, organized by Dubai Chambers, held its first international edition in Beijing, drawing Chinese enterprises and investors eager to explore global expansion. With over 40 business leaders and government representatives from Dubai participating, the event highlighted Dubai's appeal as a hub for global trade and investment. Dubai's government has implemented measures to streamline the business setup process, offering favorable conditions in its numerous free zones, which cater to industries like technology, media, and logistics.
Dubai’s legal and business environment, combined with its strategic location, makes it an ideal base for Chinese companies. The city's commitment to innovation, green technology, and AI further strengthens its position as a preferred destination for Chinese investors seeking to expand in the Middle East.
