Dubai Chamber Expands into Asia: Opens New Office in Japan

 

 

The Dubai International Chamber, a key entity among Dubai Chambers' trio, bolsters its foothold in Asia by inaugurating a new office in Japan, marking its 27th global representative office. This move aims to fortify Dubai's robust economic ties with Japan, fostering bilateral business, trade, and investments.

The ceremonial inauguration in Tokyo witnessed the presence of prominent figures such as Mr. Ishii Taku, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry; H.E. Shihab Al Faheem, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Japan; and Salem Al Shamsi, Vice President of Global Markets at Dubai Chambers, alongside distinguished representatives from Japan's business community.

H.E. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, highlighted the significance of this stride in their global expansion strategy. He stated, "Establishing a presence in Japan is pivotal, creating a platform for cross-border partnerships with one of the world's most sophisticated economies."

Part of the 'Dubai Global' initiative, the Tokyo office aims to enrich and broaden the economic rapport between Dubai and Japan. The Dubai International Chamber's team will extend on-ground support to Japanese companies interested in Dubai ventures, fostering robust connections with pivotal stakeholders in both public and private sectors.

This new office serves as a gateway to showcase Dubai's competitive advantages, offering investment insights to aid Japanese companies entering Dubai and expanding internationally through the emirate. It acts as a connector, linking businesses from both markets with credible stakeholders and potential partners.

Japan holds the position of Dubai's seventh-largest global trading partner, with bilateral non-oil trade valuing AED 38.8 billion (US$ 10.5 billion) in 2022. Notably, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce welcomed 74 new Japanese company members in the first eight months of 2023, signaling a remarkable YoY growth of 222%. This trend underscores Dubai's strengthening ties with the Japanese business community.
