Dubai Chambers Advocates Economic Partnerships at Uganda-UAE Business Forum

Dubai Chambers has called for enhanced trade, investment, and economic partnerships between the business communities in Dubai and Uganda during the third edition of the Uganda-UAE Business Forum. This annual event serves as a platform to showcase the UAE and Dubai’s numerous competitive advantages while highlighting the emirate's role as a key commercial and investment hub for Ugandan companies and investors seeking regional and global expansion.

Held in Dubai, the forum featured prominent participants, including Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, Prime Minister of Uganda, Majid Hamad Rahmah Alshamsi .Member of the Board of Directors of Dubai Chamber of Commerce,  Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers. Organized by the Embassy of Uganda in the UAE, with support from Dubai Chambers, the event was themed "Unlocking New Horizons: UAE-Uganda Partnership for Economic Prosperity" and attracted key officials, business leaders, and investors from both regions.

In her keynote address, Prime Minister Nabbanja emphasized the strong bonds of friendship between Uganda and the UAE, built on mutual respect and shared interests. She expressed confidence in the flourishing partnership and acknowledged the UAE as Uganda's leading export destination in the Middle East, with investments totaling US$3 billion across various sectors such as energy, infrastructure, healthcare, and tourism.

Majid Alshamsi reinforced the depth of economic relations between Dubai and Uganda, noting promising growth prospects for trade and investment flows through enhanced collaboration. He highlighted the forum’s importance as a platform to expand cooperation and explore bilateral business opportunities that align with the developmental goals of both markets.

Furthermore, Mohammad Lootah discussed Dubai's strategic importance as a hub for international trade and investment, outlining the competitive advantages of Dubai's business ecosystem. He identified key sectors for potential cooperation, including logistics, food and agriculture, medical equipment, construction materials, mining, real estate, information technology, and retail, fostering a vision for increased collaboration and economic prosperity between Uganda and Dubai.
