Dubai CommerCity Introduces 'Logi-Flow' to Empower SMEs in Digital Commerce

Dubai CommerCity, the pioneering free zone dedicated exclusively to digital commerce in the MEASA region, a collaboration between Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) and Wasl Properties, has unveiled "Logi-Flow." This innovative initiative integrates blockchain technology into the logistics operations of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The goal is to streamline logistics, reduce costs, and heighten efficiency, particularly in the domain of digital trade.

Aligned with Dubai CommerCity's mission to realize the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, this effort seeks to elevate Dubai's status as a digital economy hub. It further supports national strategies related to digital economy and future technologies, all while aligning with Dubai's ongoing digital transformation.

Logi-Flow operates as a secure and measurable system, adopting a pay-as-you-go model tied to transaction volume. Offering uninterrupted support and transparent monitoring of the entire order process, from inception to delivery, Logi-Flow eliminates IT service and maintenance costs that can burden SMEs.

Abdulrahman Shaheen, Senior Vice President for Property Management and Supply Chain, emphasized the platform's ability to address challenges faced by e-commerce operations, particularly during setup and continuous operation. By providing a solution that avoids the high costs of establishing an independent blockchain platform, along with ongoing operational expenses, Logi-Flow empowers SMEs to benefit from blockchain's advantages without the technical complexities.

Shaheen added, "This platform will significantly contribute to the progress and expansion of the digital commerce sector in the upcoming phase. This is especially significant considering the projection that e-commerce retail sales in the UAE will account for 12.6% of total retail sales by 2026."

Operated under the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority, established in 2021 to support operations in various free zones including Dubai Airport Free Zone, Dubai Silicon Oasis, and Dubai CommerCity, the objective of Dubai CommerCity is to foster integration among economic zones, enhancing the role of these zones in the economy. This endeavor aims to create an economic system that bolsters strategic sectors and strengthens competitiveness within Dubai.

With a sprawling area of 2.1 million square feet developed at a cost of AED 3.2 billion, Dubai CommerCity is poised to aid digital trade businesses across the MEASA region. It offers state-of-the-art offices, advanced warehouses, and efficient last-mile delivery services. Featuring high-quality infrastructure, the free zone accommodates flexible office spaces and scalable centers, catering to diverse digital commerce operations.
