The global business events industry contributes an impressive $1.6 trillion to global GDP annually, supporting millions of jobs. Recognizing  immense potential, Dubai, under the visionary leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler Dubai, has strategically positioned itself as a hub for global business events. Since 2003, Dubai’s partnership with the International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA) has highlighted its commitment to sustainable development and alignment with global sustainability goals and Dubai’s Economic Agenda, D33.

In 2023, large-scale events held at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) supported 69,281 jobs, generating Dh3.4 billion in disposable household income. These events not only bolster the economy but also reinforce Dubai’s standing as one of the top three global cities for business and leisure. Dubai’s exceptional facilities and unparalleled hospitality offerings play a vital role in this achievement.

The DWTC impact report further underscores Dubai’s significant milestones across sectors like business tourism and the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry. By aligning economic growth with sustainability and innovation, Dubai continues to strengthen its reputation as a global leader in business events, setting new benchmarks for excellence in the industry.
