External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday during his official visit to Italy. The two leaders discussed global issues and the ongoing progress of the India-US partnership. The meeting took place in Fiuggi, Italy, where Jaishankar is attending the Outreach session of the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting from November 24-26.
Jaishankar shared his thoughts on the meeting, saying on social media, “Always good to meet @SecBlinken, this time in Fiuggi, Italy. Discussed state of the world and India-US partnership, which continues move forward.” The talks further highlighted the strengthening ties between India and the US, both nations aiming to deepen their bilateral relations.
In addition to his discussion with Blinken, Jaishankar also met with South Korea's Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul during the G7 meeting. The two leaders shared insights on the global situation, emphasizing the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation. Jaishankar expressed his appreciation for the conversation on X, stating, “Pleasure to meet @FMChoTaeyul of RoK at the G7 FMM in Fiuggi. Value our conversation on the global situation.”
On Monday, Jaishankar also held discussions with his counterparts from the UK, France, and Ukraine, exploring avenues to enhance cooperation in various sectors. The meetings focused on regional and international developments, further underscoring India’s role in global diplomacy and partnerships.
