An Italy-Serbia memorandum of understanding was signed today in Pordenone, marking a significant step toward enhancing cooperation in promoting business internationalization between the two countries. The agreement, forged between the Pordenone-Udine Chamber of Commerce and the CCI of Vojvodina, underscores a commitment to foster economic ties and explore trade opportunities.
Vice-president Michelangelo Agrusti of the Pordenone-Udine Chamber of Commerce highlighted the mutual intent to exchange vital economic insights and facilitate trade endeavors. The agreement paves the way for joint participation in events and business missions, fostering interactions among companies from both regions and extending support for accessing foreign markets.
Agrusti emphasized the broader implications of such collaborations, stating that commercial agreements serve as catalysts for strengthening human connections and advancing the EU accession process. Bosco Vucurevic, President of the CCI, noted the substantial influx of Italian investments into Vojvodina, totaling over one billion euros in the past two decades. Italian companies, particularly in finance, insurance, textiles, and automotive sectors, have found Vojvodina conducive to their operations.
Vucurevic expressed optimism about Italy's export potential, highlighting its current third-place position in Serbia and second in Vojvodina. Despite stiff competition from German firms deeply entrenched in the region's productive landscape, he anticipates Italy's ascension to the forefront, buoyed by the collaborative efforts outlined in the agreement. The partnership aims to yield tangible results, potentially reshaping trade dynamics and fostering stronger economic ties as early as this year
