Italy-USA Business Care International Award in NY: A Special Tribute to Marco Durante

The Consulate General of Italy in New York recently hosted the prestigious 6th edition of the 'Business Care International Award.' This annual award, as described by its creator and President of Business Care Communication, Massimo Veccia, is dedicated to recognizing individuals who epitomize the "best contemporary Italian spirit." Notably, this year's edition introduced a Special Award, titled 'Best Italian Entrepreneur in the United States of America 2023-2024,' which was bestowed upon Marco Maria Durante, the publisher of the LaPresse news agency. Durante spoke about LaPresse's expansion into the American market, emphasizing the establishment of LaPresse USA Inc and their significant investments in the country. During the ceremony, he also credited Chief Editor Alessia Lautone for driving positive changes within the agency.

The awards ceremony, attended by the Consul General of Italy, Fabrizio Di Michele, celebrated several outstanding individuals, including Alberto Milani, the President of the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce; Mauro Porcini, Chief Design Officer at Pepsico USA; Pasquale Santangeli, a cardiologist at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio; Maria Rita Grieco, Deputy Director of TG1 Rai; Sally Fischer, President of Sally Fischer Public Relations; and Rosario Procino, the Founder and Director of the Ribalta restaurant in New York. Notably, the Honorable Christian Di Sanzo, a member of the Italian Parliament representing the North America constituency and the Productive Activities Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, was also in attendance.

Consul Di Michele highlighted the uniqueness of the award, which brings together accomplished individuals from diverse backgrounds who have all achieved success as Italians. He emphasized the importance of collaborating and networking with these remarkable individuals to promote Italy's interests in New York and the United States.

Di Sanzo drew attention to the changing face of Italian immigration, emphasizing that while in the past, Italians emigrated to the United States out of necessity and poverty, today's Italian immigrants are seeking opportunities. He expressed that these awards acknowledge the valuable contributions of the new wave of Italian immigrants to both the United States and Italy.
