JOLT Expands EV Fast-Charge Network Across Canada to 5,000 Locations

Australian electric vehicle fast-charger provider JOLT has officially launched its services in Canada, with ambitious plans to establish a network of 5,000 locations nationwide. The expansion began in Toronto, supported by TELUS, a Vancouver-based telecommunications company. The inaugural EV charger is located in Richmond Hill, the first municipality in Canada to offer the first 7kWh of charging free for electric vehicle drivers, equivalent to approximately 50 km of range.

JOLT's innovative approach includes a Digital Out-Of-Home advertising network that funds the free charging through advertising screens positioned next to each charger. This expansion marks JOLT’s fourth region, adding to its existing networks in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. CEO Doug McNamee expressed excitement about the company’s growth and its ability to leverage emerging trends globally.

As the number of Canadians transitioning to electric vehicles continues to rise, JOLT aims to eliminate common barriers to EV ownership by providing fast, reliable, and cost-effective charging solutions. With plans to roll out hundreds more locations in the coming months, JOLT is poised to become a significant player in Canada’s EV infrastructure, connecting advertisers with engaged audiences in sustainable ways.
