Manish Prasad SAP's Growth Strategy in India - AI, Sustainability, Talent

The newly-appointed President and MD for SAP Indian Subcontinent, Manish Prasad, delves into the firm's vision for the Indian market and its pivotal role in India's digital transformation. SAP, a leading German SaaS player, identifies India as a burgeoning market, deeply engaged in fostering inclusive growth and embracing sustainable practices amid evolving business dynamics.

In a dialogue with Business Today, Prasad elaborates on SAP's three primary growth drivers in India: artificial intelligence (AI), sustainability, and talent acquisition. The seamless transition in leadership reflects SAP's strong foothold in India, spanning over 27 years and ingrained in various sectors, with approximately 60% of India's GDP intertwined with SAP systems.

SAP initially focused on asset-intensive industries, expanding its reach across value chains, including automotive, manufacturing, and process industries. Prasad underscores the company's robust talent pool, essential for aligning with market trends and advancing India's growth narrative.

Emphasizing technology's role in India's progress, Prasad highlights SAP's evolution from systems of records to systems of intelligence, empowering businesses across verticals. SAP's ambition extends beyond large enterprises to include the vibrant SMB sector, comprising 75 million businesses and employing 130 million individuals, reflecting SAP's commitment to comprehensive industrialization and economic development.

With SAP's pervasive influence across industries and its pivotal contribution to the Indian GDP, Prasad articulates a compelling narrative of SAP's integral role in India's growth trajectory.
