Metro Bank partners with Infosys to accelerate digital transformation journey

Indian IT services firm Infosys and UK-based Metro Bank have entered into a long-term partnership to drive the bank's digital transformation and enhance support functions, marking a significant step towards operational efficiency. Metro Bank aims to leverage Infosys Topaz, an AI-first offering utilizing generative AI technologies, to streamline processes and provide a more consistent customer experience.

This collaboration is expected to result in substantial cost savings, with Metro Bank projecting annualized savings of £80 million across multiple initiatives. The bank is also focused on reaching its target of mid-to-high teen Return on Tangible Equity by 2027, reinforcing its plans to expand its store network across the north of England.

Infosys' extensive experience in digital transformation will play a crucial role in helping Metro Bank become more agile and better equipped for sustainable growth. Metro Bank’s strategic vision and Infosys’ global expertise in driving efficiencies for mid-sized banks are set to create a highly customer-centric and efficient banking experience. This partnership is designed to support Metro Bank's continued growth while maintaining its commitment to customer service, ensuring it remains a top-tier financial institution.
