07 Oct, 2024

Payoneer has announced a strategic partnership with Tech Mahindra to optimize payment solutions for the crowdsourcing platform Populii. This collaboration aims to streamline payment capabilities, allowing gig workers to efficiently track and receive payments while accessing multi-currency functionalities. By integrating Payoneer's advanced cross-border payment system with Populii, users will benefit from prompt and secure international payments upon task completion, significantly enhancing their overall experience on the platform.

Birendra Sen, President of Business Process Services at Tech Mahindra, highlighted that the Payoneer payment system ensures that the Populii community receives payments on a set schedule, providing greater financial predictability for gig workers. Gaurav Shisodia, Payoneer’s Vice President for India, emphasized the potential growth of India's gig workforce, projected to reach 23.5 million by 2030 according to a Nasscom report. This partnership is designed to simplify global commerce for freelancers by combining Payoneer's expertise in cross-border transactions with the technological strengths of Populii.

With Payoneer’s support for up to 11 of the world's most traded currencies across more than 190 countries, this collaboration positions both companies to better serve the expanding freelance market and meet the evolving needs of gig workers worldwide.
