ROCKWOOL is set to build a new factory in Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu, located 90 km from Chennai. The company plans to invest Rs. 550 Crores in this ambitious project, which will create over 150 local jobs. The facility, expected to start operations in Q1 2026, will produce ROCKWOOL’s stone wool insulation known for its non-combustibility, recyclability, and durability.
The decision to invest in Tamil Nadu aligns with India’s growing market potential. As the world's most populous country and anticipated to be the third-largest economy by 2030, India presents significant opportunities for ROCKWOOL. The new plant aims to enhance the country’s building efficiency with energy-efficient, acoustically comfortable, and fire-safe solutions.
Tamil Nadu, a leader in renewable energy and green transition, offers a supportive environment for innovative companies. The state’s focus on industrial investment and economic development makes it an ideal location for ROCKWOOL's expansion.
ROCKWOOL’s entry into Cheyyar reflects its commitment to addressing India’s demand for sustainable building solutions while contributing to local economic growth. The new site will also benefit from its proximity to major transportation networks and a skilled local labor pool.
