Spotnana recently announced its integration with Trainline Partner Solutions' API, facilitating booking and servicing of various European rail providers through its platform.
Travelers can now access rail content from prominent providers in the U.K., including Germany's Deutsche Bahn, Switzerland's SBB, Italy's Trenitalia, and Spain's Renfe. Spotnana's VP of travel operations, Bill Brindle, revealed in a blog post that the content from other Trainline partners will gradually become available as Spotnana completes accreditations.
The integration not only grants access to this content but also offers functionalities such as applying discounts from rail cards and loyalty programs, selecting seats via a map, viewing amenity details, and purchasing ancillaries. Additionally, travelers can make changes or cancellations to their rail trips and explore split-ticket pricing on U.K. fares, potentially resulting in lower overall costs.
Spotnana further empowers travelers by enabling simultaneous rail and flight searches, facilitating comparisons between the two modes of transportation. This feature aims to assist travelers in making sustainable travel choices, as highlighted by Brindle.
This integration marks Spotnana's expansion into European rail content, following its previous integration with Amtrak's API for U.S. rail content last summer. Interestingly, this announcement coincides with Trainline's recent partnership with Sabre, a move aimed at making its content available within the Sabre travel marketplace.
