UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy to Advocate for India-UK Partnership Reset and FTA

UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy is set to visit New Delhi to reinforce the India-UK partnership and push for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) that benefits both nations. Beginning on Wednesday, Lammy will meet with India's external affairs minister S Jaishankar and commerce minister Piyush Goyal to drive forward growth and economic security.

The FTA negotiations, which started in January 2022, are a key focus of Lammy’s visit. He aims to strengthen the relationship with India, highlighting shared interests in green transition, new technologies, and global security. Lammy’s visit underscores the UK’s commitment to resetting ties with the Global South for mutual prosperity
