Ukraine’s Zelenskyy to Visit UK, Expected to Sign $4.6 Billion Defence Deal

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will make a historic visit to the UK on Friday, becoming the first official guest at Downing Street under Keir Starmer’s leadership and the first foreign leader since Bill Clinton in 1997 to address the UK cabinet in person. During his visit, Zelenskyy is anticipated to provide updates on the situation in Ukraine and push for enhanced European defence capabilities. The highlight of the visit is expected to be the signing of a significant £3.5 billion ($4.6 billion) defence export finance deal with the UK government. This agreement underscores the UK’s commitment to supporting Ukraine amidst ongoing conflict and strengthening international defence collaboration. The visit marks a pivotal moment in UK-Ukraine relations and reflects the UK's continued dedication to supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and defense needs.
