Wemade Co., a prominent South Korean video game developer, made headlines by announcing its recent partnership with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Innovation Hub. This collaboration marks Wemade as the first Korean game company to join forces with DIFC.
The DIFC stands as an international financial zone in Dubai, equipped with its own administrative, judicial, and regulatory entities. Within the DIFC, the Innovation Hub, overseen by the Dubai government, aims to attract global entities specializing in blockchain, gaming, and artificial intelligence (AI).
As part of this partnership, Wemade intends to establish a dedicated "WEMIX PLAY Center" within the Innovation Hub. This space will cater to game companies integrated into the WEMIX ecosystem.
WEMIX serves as the native coin within the WEMIX ecosystem, functioning as a decentralized blockchain protocol emphasizing experiential, platform-driven, and service-oriented approaches.
Moreover, Wemade plans to launch a substantial $100 million global Web3 gaming fund in conjunction with DIFC. This fund aims to support and invest in the successful entry of companies integrated into the WEMIX ecosystem.
Simultaneously, Wemade is in the process of seeking registration for WEMIX as an approved cryptocurrency by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA). Presently, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, and TON stand as the five cryptocurrencies approved by the DFSA, signaling a potential expansion in the approved cryptocurrency list with WEMIX's inclusion.
