Dow Drops to 2022 Low as Markets Are Worried About Recession

27 Sep, 2022

Global stock prices plummeted. On Friday, there were concerns that the already sluggish global economy would enter a recession as central banks added to the pressure by raising interest rates.

With a 1.6% decline, the Dow Jones Industrial Average finished at its lowest point since late 2020. The Nasdaq dropped 1.8% while the S&P 500 dropped 1.7%, coming very near to its 2022 bottom established in mid-June.

The major indexes suffered their sixth weekly loss in six weeks as a result of the selling, which came to an end another trying week for Wall Street.
