French Tourism Minister Olivia Gregoire announced today that France has ambitious aspirations to achieve revenues of up to €67 billion from international tourists in 2023, surpassing the previous year's €58 billion mark. With its status as the world's premier tourist destination, France's tourism sector plays a pivotal role, contributing around 8% to the nation's gross domestic product.
"We've enjoyed an exceptionally successful summer," Gregoire conveyed to reporters.
Taking into account current estimates, Gregoire indicated that the anticipated range for foreign tourist-generated revenues in 2023 is between €64 billion and €67 billion.
The global tourism and travel industry has demonstrated a resilient resurgence in the last couple of years, following the easing of Covid-19 pandemic-related lockdowns across various nations.
In a report from last month, aviation executives and analysts informed Reuters that the surge of North American tourists exploring Europe's prominent locales is poised to bolster substantial profits for airlines throughout the present quarter and beyond.
