France has taken a significant step to bolster its innovation ties with India by inaugurating the Bureau de France in Hyderabad. Located within T-Hub, Hyderabad’s premier innovation hub, this new bureau aims to strengthen collaboration and knowledge exchange across various sectors. The inauguration ceremony, led by Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India, was attended by key figures including Mahankali Srinivas Rao, CEO of T-Hub, Thierry Berthelot, Consul General of France in Bangalore, and D Sridhar Babu, Minister for IT and Commerce in Telangana.
The decision to establish the Bureau de France in Hyderabad, alongside the Consulate General of India in Marseille, aligns with the strategic vision set by French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Announced on July 14, 2023, in Paris and reiterated on January 26, 2024, during President Macron’s visit to India, this initiative underscores the commitment to deepening bilateral ties and enhancing diplomatic engagement.
The bureau, an extension of the Consulate General of France in Bangalore, will serve Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh, further integrating into the vibrant regional innovation ecosystem. It will also support the French expatriate community in Telangana, reinforcing the Franco-Indian partnership.
