A new strategic partnership is set to inject €10 billion into the French economy over the span of 2024 to 2030, as per a freshly inked agreement between Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday.
This significant deal marks Qatar Emir's first state visit to France since ascending to the throne in 2013, signifying a pivotal moment in bilateral relations.
The investment from Qatar is poised to fuel growth particularly in sectors crucial to France's economic landscape, including aerospace, artificial intelligence, energy transition, semiconductors, digital innovation, healthcare, hospitality, and cultural initiatives, as outlined by the French presidency's statement.
Expressing optimism about the collaboration, the Emir highlighted, "These investments will strengthen the strategic partnerships between our two countries," as reported by AFP.
Beyond economic cooperation, discussions during the visit will delve into critical geopolitical matters, with a focus on the Middle East. Sheikh Tamim's involvement in diplomatic efforts for a Gaza ceasefire and hostage release underscores Qatar's active role in regional stability initiatives.
