Ukraine's Ambassador to France, Vadym Omelchenko, revealed a range of sectors capturing French interest. Notably, the development of nuclear capabilities, especially with new collaborative opportunities arising, holds appeal. The prospect of tapping into lithium deposits also intrigues the French side, as Ukraine stands as one of the two European countries with substantial lithium reservoirs alongside Portugal. It's worth noting that two of Ukraine's four deposits are located in conflict-affected zones," Omelchenko shared in an interview with Lb.ua.
The Ambassador highlighted the promising potential for French engagement in humanitarian demining efforts. French corporations have interacted with the embassy, and we have put forth governmental suggestions to provide essential assistance in this field. What's more, the French are eager to commence work promptly," emphasized the Ukrainian Ambassador.
Omelchenko underscored that French firms are keenly interested in construction and infrastructure restoration. He cited Neo-Eco, a company employing unique technologies to rebuild homes entirely from scratch, as an illustrative example. The company has successfully restored 25 houses in Hostomel, according to the diplomat.
"An ongoing initiative involves the acquisition of 19,000 tonnes of rails for Ukrzaliznytsia. Anticipated discussions with Alstom, a competitor in the restoration market, are on the horizon," disclosed Omelchenko.
Additionally, it has been announced that France will extend an extra 40 million euros in financial aid to Ukraine throughout 2023."
