International facilities services company ISS has announced its decision to divest its operations in France, with the exception of its global key account customers. The move comes as a result of historically unsatisfactory financial performance in the country, which has had a negative impact on the company's overall operating margins and growth. ISS cited strategic challenges, challenging market conditions, and limited commercial development as contributing factors to the decision.
In recent years, ISS Group and local management in ISS France have diligently worked on restructuring the business and establishing a solid presence in the French market. However, ISS believes that achieving a sustainable and strengthened market position in France would necessitate substantial additional investment and management focus.
Kasper Fangel, the group's chief financial officer, emphasized that ISS France boasts a diverse and valuable customer portfolio, along with a dedicated and experienced team. While the search for a buyer is underway, ISS France will continue to provide services to all its existing customers.
ISS also reaffirmed its commitment to its strategically significant global key account customers, highlighting their importance to the company's long-term strategy. ISS remains fully dedicated to delivering exceptional service to these customers in France, both now and in the future.
