Infosys Foundation USA, a philanthropic organization, has revealed its plan to contribute $200,000 (equivalent to around Rs 1.6 crore) to bolster tech careers in Indiana. This commitment was announced in an official statement on Tuesday. The funding's primary objective is to aid 5,000 Indiana residents, commonly referred to as Hoosiers.
The designated funds will be channeled to the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP) Foundation. In collaboration with CICP, TechPoint – Indiana's industry-driven growth initiative for the technology ecosystem – along with Nextech and Indianapolis Public Schools, will orchestrate the implementation of novel tech-career programs in central Indiana.
In the statement, Infosys Foundation USA, a nonprofit entity dedicated to closing the digital divide in the United States, highlighted its investment of $200,000 to empower Hoosiers in their pursuit of upskilling for tech-oriented professions.
The initiative is anticipated to yield substantial benefits, ultimately reaching close to 5,000 Hoosiers. The overarching aim of the program is to enhance participation from historically underrepresented demographics, as stated in the official announcement.
