J Rieger & Co Expands Product Reach into Canada

American distillery J Rieger & Co has taken a significant step in its expansion journey by introducing its esteemed product line to the Canadian market.

This expansion move encompasses the inclusion of their renowned offerings, such as the distinguished Kansas City Whiskey and the exquisite Midwestern Dry Gin, into the shelves of Nova Scotia.

In expressing his enthusiasm, Ryan Maybee, one of the co-founders, stated, “The Canadian market boasts a long-standing affinity for premium spirits, and we are thrilled to extend our dedication to the craft of distillation to our friends in the northern region. We eagerly anticipate spreading awareness of our brand and are confident that Canada will greet us with open arms.”

J Rieger & Co, a distillery with a rich history, was originally founded in the year 1887 within the bustling West Bottoms Livestock Exchange district of Kansas City. However, the onset of Prohibition in 1919 led to its unfortunate closure.

Nonetheless, in 2014, the brand underwent a revival under the guidance of Ryan Maybee and Andy Rieger, the great-great-grandson of the original founder, Jacob Rieger.

Currently situated in the Electric Park vicinity of Kansas City, the company has flourished anew. Notably, it also crafts the delightful Caffe Amaro and the refined Premium Wheat Vodka, both of which will now be available alongside its signature products in Nova Scotia.

In parallel with Canada-related developments, Taiwanese whisky producer Kavalan made its mark by launching a trio of whiskies in Ontario following a successful partnership with the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO).

Additionally, the mezcal brand Desolas set its sights on the Canadian market this month. Through a strategic distribution agreement with Renaissance Wine Merchants, Desolas initiated its entry into the country, marking the beginning of its Canadian journey.
