Marriott International is set to expand its footprint in France with plans to add 10 new properties across multiple brands by the end of next year. This expansion will introduce over 1,000 additional rooms to Marriott's existing portfolio in France, which currently boasts 69 hotels and more than 12,000 rooms across 16 brands.
The new openings will include three Moxy lifestyle hotels in Annecy, Paris, and Nice, along with a Residence Inn extended stay property in Lille. Other additions are the Courtyard by Marriott Lyon East, Aloft Dijon, and the historic Hôtel du Couvent in Nice, which will join the Luxury Collection this summer. Marriott also anticipates the debut of a Tribute Portfolio hotel in Mougins by the end of 2025.
Alexandra Goguet, Marriott International’s vice president of development for France and Benelux, emphasized the company's focus on expanding in both primary and secondary markets in response to strong demand for leisure, resort, and business travel experiences. Nearly half of the new properties are conversion and adaptive reuse projects, showcasing Marriott's ability to innovate and adapt existing buildings to create unique and memorable guest experiences. This strategic expansion highlights Marriott's commitment to growth and excellence in the French hospitality market.
