The “Video Game Incubator” program, launched on Monday, aims to support nine Moroccan gaming startups. The initiative seeks to strengthen Morocco’s position in the global gaming industry by providing comprehensive training and networking opportunities. The event was attended by Morocco’s Minister of Youth, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, alongside representatives from the French Embassy and key industry players.
The program focuses on helping Moroccan entrepreneurs develop their businesses, enhance their skills, and establish long-term success. Over five months, participants will receive in-depth training in video game pre-production, branding, communication strategy, business management, production oversight, and financial planning. The initiative also provides startups with access to industry leaders, potential investors, and global gaming professionals.
Minister Bensaid emphasized that the incubator is part of a broader Morocco-France agreement signed in October, supported by King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron. This collaboration aims to boost cultural and creative industries, including gaming. Bensaid expressed hope that Moroccan gaming startups will evolve into global industry leaders, strengthening the country’s gaming ecosystem.
French Embassy Cultural Cooperation Advisor Agnès Humruzian highlighted the gaming sector’s potential to create jobs and opportunities for youth. She stressed that this initiative strengthens Franco-Moroccan cultural cooperation and opens doors for further collaboration.
Julien Villedieu, founder of Level Link Partners (LLP), noted that the incubator was designed by industry experts to help Moroccan startups compete globally. He described the program as a key milestone in building a structured and competitive gaming market in Morocco. By connecting Moroccan companies to the international gaming community, the initiative aims to accelerate growth and position Morocco as a serious contender in the global gaming industry.
