Proxima Antin Infrastructure Partners Pioneers Independent High-Speed Rail in France

Proxima, spearheaded by co-founders Rachel Picard and Tim Jackson and backed by Antin Infrastructure Partners, is a groundbreaking French initiative. The project aims to revolutionize high-speed rail travel by connecting Bordeaux, Rennes, Nantes, and Angers to Paris. Through strategic partnerships, Proxima has secured agreements with Alstom for the acquisition of 12 cutting-edge Avelia Horizon trains and with Lisea for access to a state-of-the-art maintenance facility near Bordeaux.

As of June 6, 2024, Proxima officially launches, marking a significant milestone in France's transportation sector. This venture, driven by seasoned industry leaders, responds to the escalating demand for fast, eco-friendly inter-urban transit. Proxima's inaugural routes serve key destinations in western France, catering to evolving travel patterns shaped by economic dynamics, leisure pursuits, and demographic shifts.

Positioned as France's premier independent high-speed train operator, Proxima aims to redefine the passenger experience by prioritizing customer feedback and adapting to changing lifestyles. With Antin Infrastructure Partners providing substantial financial backing, Proxima embarks on its journey with an initial investment of approximately one billion euros, facilitating rolling stock procurement, operational launch, and ongoing operations.

Aligned with its commitment to excellence, Proxima collaborates closely with renowned French entities, including Alstom and Lisea, ensuring top-tier fleet maintenance and operational efficiency. Rachel Picard emphasizes the project's societal and environmental significance, emphasizing its role in promoting sustainable mobility. Similarly, Tim Jackson underscores the collaboration's potential to elevate green transportation initiatives in France.

Alain Rauscher, CEO of Antin Infrastructure Partners, expresses confidence in Proxima's success, citing the project's comprehensive approach, strategic partnerships, and Antin's expertise in infrastructure financing as key drivers of its future triumph
