Samsung Advances AI Innovation with New SSD and Mobile DRAM

Samsung Electronics is pushing forward with its AI-driven business strategy, as highlighted during the '2024 Tech Forum' held in Silicon Valley. Organized by Samsung Research America, the event brought together industry experts to discuss AI technology developments. Senior managers from various Samsung business divisions shared insights into their AI research and operational advancements, with Vice Chairman and CEO Han Jong-hee in attendance. Kim Dae-hyun, head of Samsung Research’s Global AI Center, emphasized the company's focus on delivering unique customer experiences through AI.

As part of its continued innovation, Samsung introduced the “PM9E1” solid-state drive (SSD) at the event. Tailored for AI-powered personal computers, this SSD provides improved performance and power efficiency, making it a key component in Samsung’s plan to expand its advanced SSD offerings to global PC manufacturers.

In addition to SSD technology, Samsung has also begun mass production of its ultra-thin LPDDR5X mobile DRAM, designed for AI-driven mobile devices. Available in 12GB and 16GB packages, the LPDDR5X DRAM is the thinnest in the industry at just 0.65 mm. These developments underline Samsung’s commitment to leading the market in AI technology, offering both cutting-edge hardware and fostering industry collaboration for future advancements.
