US President Donald Trump addressed the Davos summit, delivering his first major speech to global leaders since returning to power. He declared the beginning of a “golden age of America” and described his administration’s recent actions as a “revolution of common sense.” Trump assured that the U.S. would soon be stronger, wealthier, and more united, promising a prosperous future for both America and the world.

During his speech, Trump announced plans for significant tax cuts, calling them the largest in American history. He emphasized that his administration, along with Congress, would provide tax relief for workers, families, and domestic manufacturers. He also expressed a willingness to collaborate with Democrats to extend his previous tax cuts, further boosting the economy and job creation.

On energy policies, Trump highlighted his decision to terminate the Green New Deal, withdraw from the Paris climate accord, and end electric vehicle mandates. He reiterated that the U.S. has vast reserves of oil and gas and intends to utilize them to ensure energy independence and economic growth.

Regarding immigration, Trump reinforced his commitment to border security, mentioning the deployment of active-duty military and National Guard troops to prevent unauthorized crossings. He referred to the situation at the border as an “invasion” and vowed to protect U.S. sovereignty.

Trump also touched on foreign policy, claiming credit for negotiating a Gaza ceasefire even before taking office. He emphasized his administration’s efforts to secure peace between Russia and Ukraine, stressing the importance of diplomatic resolutions in global conflicts.

The 47th U.S. president addressed the World Economic Forum virtually, marking his third appearance after speeches in 2018 and 2020. His speech set the tone for discussions led by other prominent figures, including TotalEnergies CEO Patrick Pouyanné and WEF founder Klaus Schwab.
