Business leaders across the United States have voiced their collective outrage and unwavering support for Israel in the aftermath of the unexpected and deadly attack by Hamas.
JPMorgan Chase CEO, Jamie Dimon, made a resounding statement on Sunday by declaring the bank's solidarity with Israel. He instructed all employees in the region to work remotely for the foreseeable future. This information was confirmed by a source familiar with the matter who spoke with CNN. Dimon, in a memo obtained by CNN, conveyed his deep sympathy for the people of Israel.
Dimon stated, "This past weekend's attack on Israel and its people, and the ensuing conflict and loss of life, are a devastating tragedy." He went on to assure all employees, saying, "We stand firmly with our employees, their families, and the people of Israel during this period of immense suffering and grief."
JPMorgan maintains a workforce of approximately 230 to 240 employees in Israel. As reported earlier by Bloomberg News, the bank has requested its staff in the region to continue working from their homes for the immediate future.
Dimon provided reassurance by confirming that as of Sunday, all JPMorgan employees and those traveling in the region were confirmed safe. He expressed heartfelt wishes for their safety and the well-being of their families and loved ones moving forward.
Dimon also acknowledged the profound human toll of wars and acts of terrorism, which result in countless lives lost and irrevocably altered. He emphasized unity and hope for a future where violence comes to an end, and lasting peace prevails throughout the Middle East.
