On October 12, in the United States, Arvind Krishna, IBM's CEO, met with President Joe Biden and his senior leadership team to establish AI deployment guidelines, enhancing productivity and competitiveness. In India, seven working groups from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology submitted the inaugural IndiaAI report to Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar a day later.
Danish Faruqui, CEO of Fab Economics, noted the remarkably similar AI developments in the US and India, reinforcing a shared vision. IBM's CEO praised bipartisan, pro-investment policies, focusing on critical infrastructure, semiconductor production, and R&D. He commended the efforts to establish global AI deployment guidelines.
Minister Chandrasekhar sees the IndiaAI report as India's AI development roadmap, driven by dedicated research and a vision articulated by PM Modi. IndiaAI aims to catalyze a $1 trillion digital economy.
India's approach to AI is comprehensive, with various government interventions under the IndiaAI program. It employs a mission-centric strategy to address AI ecosystem gaps in computing infrastructure, data, financing, research, skilling, and institutional capacity, advancing India's AI potential.
Faruqi also highlighted the diverse representation in both US and Indian AI initiatives, with a focus on women-led development at the forefront of technology.
