Uzbekistan and France Collaborate to Inaugurate Joint Chamber of Commerce

During a meeting that brought together President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and President Emmanuel Macron of France, the launch of the Uzbek-French Chamber of Commerce was officially introduced, as reported by Trend.

This announcement took place in an extended format meeting, with the participation of official delegations from both countries, including government officials, leaders of major corporations, and prominent figures from the world of French culture and science.

In addition to this milestone, the two leaders revealed their plans for the upcoming opening of the Business France agency office in Tashkent.

Acknowledging the multifaceted nature of Uzbek-French relations, attributed to frequent high-level meetings, both leaders affirmed their commitment to maintaining robust political engagement, consistent parliamentary and governmental dialogues, and continuous interactions between foreign policy and economic departments.

Furthermore, the establishment of the French Alliance branch in Samarkand was well-received, and mutual commitments were made to expedite the establishment of a collaborative Uzbek-French university.

The leaders also engaged in discussions about pressing global issues and reaffirmed their dedication to ongoing cooperation in addressing shared challenges and security threats.

Earlier this year, a delegation of nearly 40 French companies, representing various sectors such as transport, energy, agriculture, digital, textiles, and industry, expressed their readiness to explore Uzbekistan's business potential. This visit took place during the France-Uzbekistan Business Council of MEDEF International in Tashkent.

MEDEF International's France-Uzbekistan Business Council noted its active role in sustaining the momentum of bilateral relations between the two countries. The council organized a previous delegation's visit to Tashkent in July 2022 and hosted a significant French-Uzbek Business Forum in Paris last November, with approximately 200 participants during President Mirziyoyev's official visit to France.
