Elon Musk's X Corp has committed to donating all revenue associated with the ongoing Gaza conflict to hospitals in Israel and the Red Cross/Crescent in the affected region, as announced by the tech billionaire on Tuesday. Musk, who heads the social media firm X Corp, disclosed the decision to allocate proceeds from advertising and subscriptions to support medical facilities in both Israel and the Hamas-controlled area.
In a social media post, Musk stated, “X Corp will be donating all revenue from advertising & subscriptions associated with the war in Gaza to hospitals in Israel and the Red Cross/Crescent in Gaza.” Responding to concerns about the potential misuse of donated funds by Hamas militants, Musk emphasized the company's commitment to tracking fund utilization.
“We will track how funds are spent and go through Red Cross/Crescent. Better ideas are welcome,” he assured. Musk emphasized the importance of caring for the innocent, irrespective of race, creed, or religion.
Addressing a video posted by a social media user alleging Hamas's use of the Palestinian Red Crescent building for militant activities, Musk suggested, “Ok, what is a better way to help kids in Gaza? Maybe just direct purchase of pediatric medical supplies?”
This announcement preceded Israel's Cabinet approval of a temporary ceasefire with Hamas, incorporating the release of hostages held in Gaza. The truce, spanning four days, involves Israel halting its military offensive while Hamas releases a specified number of hostages, starting with women and children. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office affirmed Israel's commitment to bringing all hostages home, marking a pivotal step in achieving this goal.
