Zara Launches 'Pre-Owned' Platform in France to Embrace Circular Fashion

Spanish fashion brand Zara is expanding its offerings in France, introducing a range of services aimed at selling, repairing, or donating pre-owned clothing. Zara customers in France will gain access to the Zara Pre-Owned platform, launching on September 7, through both the Zara website and mobile application, with the goal of promoting circular fashion practices.

By extending the lifespan of Zara's clothing items, the company aims to reduce waste and decrease the demand for new raw materials. The platform will offer three key services to customers in France upon its launch:

  • Clothing Repair Service: Customers who purchase pre-owned Zara items, either in-store or online, will have the option to request repairs. This service offers a range of repair options, including zipper replacements, seam re-sealing, button replacements, and applique repairs. Customers can easily track the status of their online repair requests or choose to have their items delivered to any Zara location of their choice.
  • Purchase and Sale Between Customers: The "Pre-Owned" platform also provides a secure online marketplace where individuals can buy and sell vintage Zara clothing. Customers will have access to customer service support from Zara, ensuring the safety and reliability of transactions and product delivery.
  • Clothing Donation: Zara customers can use a home collection service to donate their pre-owned Zara clothing. Similar to the clothing containers found in all Zara stores in France, items collected at home will be directed to the Le Relais association, with the goal of giving these items a new lease on life and supporting community development initiatives.

France became the second country, following the United Kingdom, to offer the Zara Pre-Owned service. France holds significant importance as a market for the Inditex Group.

The online sales section of the platform is organized by product type and provides detailed information about each item, including details about the original garment and photographs provided by the seller.
