ICAPE Group Acquires Major Player, Expands PCB Distribution in Japan

The ICAPE Group, a global leader in technology distribution for printed circuit boards (PCBs) and custom-made electromechanical parts, has announced a significant acquisition of the Japanese group NTW. This acquisition will see ICAPE Group acquire 100% of NTW's capital, with the deal expected to complete on September 19, 2024, pending customary conditions. NTW, founded in 2002, specializes in PCB distribution and operates seven subsidiaries across Japan, China, and Southeast Asia. With a projected annual revenue exceeding $20 million for 2024, NTW serves major Japanese clients in various sectors including office automation, communication, and infrastructure.

The integration of NTW into ICAPE Group marks a strategic expansion into the Japanese market, known for its complexity and high value. This acquisition enhances ICAPE’s presence in Asia and opens new opportunities for growth by leveraging NTW’s established local network and expertise. The deal is expected to generate significant synergies in purchasing and marketing, while allowing NTW to benefit from ICAPE’s global logistics platform. The transaction will boost ICAPE Group’s revenue by an additional €45 million and is set to strengthen its market position in the region.

Yann Duigou, CEO of ICAPE Group, emphasized the strategic importance of this acquisition, which not only solidifies their position in Japan but also integrates new suppliers from China and Southeast Asia. NTW's founder, Takashi Yasuda, expressed pride in the merger, noting that the collaboration will enhance their service offerings and product range. The acquisition is financed in cash and will be reflected in ICAPE Group’s financials starting Q4 2024.
