Maruti Suzuki begins exporting Made in India Fronx SUV to Japan

Maruti Suzuki has started exporting its India-made Fronx SUV to Japan. The first shipment of over 1,600 vehicles was dispatched from Gujarat's Pipavav port, marking the Fronx as the first SUV from Maruti Suzuki to be launched in Japan. This move demonstrates Maruti Suzuki’s capability to produce vehicles that meet high standards of quality, safety, and performance.

The Fronx, globally unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023 and launched in India in April 2023, quickly became popular, achieving 1 lakh sales in just 10 months. Following its success in the domestic market, the company began exporting the Fronx to regions like Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa in July 2023.

Maruti Suzuki leads India’s passenger vehicle exports, with over 2.8 lakh units shipped to more than 100 countries in the last fiscal year. The company currently holds a 42% share in India’s passenger vehicle exports. In the first quarter of the current fiscal year, Maruti Suzuki achieved its highest-ever Q1 exports, with 70,560 units shipped.
