Musashi Seimitsu and Log9 Materials partner for EV powertrain solutions.

Japanese firm Musashi Seimitsu Industry has partnered with Indian battery technology company Log9 Materials to develop advanced electric vehicle powertrain technology and battery solutions for OEMs in India and global markets. This collaboration aims to combine Musashi's e-Axle system with Log9 Materials’ battery technology, offering integrated powertrain solutions tailored for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers.

The partnership will address market gaps by delivering a high-performance, energy-efficient system that optimizes synergy between battery and drivetrain systems, setting new industry standards for sustainability. Musashi Seimitsu’s subsidiary recently began mass production of e-Axles for electric two-wheelers in India.

The collaboration focuses on reducing energy losses common in conventional powertrains, enhancing vehicle range, and improving performance, particularly in densely populated urban areas. A centralized service model will reduce repair downtime, improving customer satisfaction with quicker service turnaround. Plans are in place to expand into Southeast Asia and Africa, supported by an extensive after-sales service network in major Indian cities. This partnership aligns with Musashi's strategic goals of fostering innovation and contributing to global carbon emission reduction efforts, while Log9 aims to introduce efficient powertrain solutions, promoting sustainability and decarbonization in electric mobility.
