Toyota's Upcoming New Century Release in Japan

Toyota Motor Corporation, known as Toyota, has introduced a brand-new Century model, and it is now open for orders. The planned launch of this new model is set for 2023, while the existing Century sedan will continue to be available.

This novel chauffeur-driven vehicle is designed to meet the evolving demands of a new era, crafted under the guiding concept of "The Chauffeur." It wholeheartedly embraces the principles of heritage and progression that have been synonymous with the Century brand, blending elegance, comfort, and functionality seamlessly.

Key features of this new Century model include:

  • A striking design characterized by an elegant and graceful silhouette infused with elements of Japanese aesthetics.
  • An interior space that prioritizes a human-centric approach, ensuring a safe and comfortable travel experience for rear-seat passengers and the driver alike.
  • The introduction of a newly developed plug-in hybrid system, inherits the renowned quietness of the Century while delivering impressive environmental performance and a powerful, exhilarating ride, perfectly aligning with the future of chauffeur-driven vehicles.

The Century made its debut back in 1967 as Toyota's premier luxury chauffeur-driven car. Prior to this, Western luxury brands had dominated the Japanese chauffeur car market. Toyota's mission was to create an entirely new luxury vehicle of Japanese origin that could compete on the global stage. The first-generation Century was the result of Japan's best technology, embodying a dignified design that incorporated traditional Japanese aesthetics and a human-centered approach to deliver exceptional quietness and comfort. For over five decades, the Century has remained the preferred choice for chauffeur-driven transportation in Japan, epitomizing an unparalleled spirit of omotenashi, or hospitality, ensuring passengers' utmost comfort during their journeys.

Over the years, the Century development team has carefully contemplated the vehicle's future direction to continually exceed customer expectations. In recent times, the needs of chauffeur-driven car passengers have diversified, with individuals seeking to make the most of their travel time by resting in the cabin or engaging in online meetings. It is these changing circumstances that led to the conception of this new model.

Operating under the banner of "The Chauffeur," this fresh Century model has evolved into a chauffeur car that will consistently meet customer expectations in the years ahead while preserving the essence and upholding the dignity, quietness, and ride comfort befitting the Century brand.

The new Century model will offer full global customization, tailored to the preferences and requirements of each individual customer, with the goal of delivering the ultimate freedom of movement and"Extending 'Freedom in Motion' to a Broader Audience"
