A recent Brazilian trade mission to Saudi Arabia has yielded promising outcomes, with participating companies initiating export negotiations with local retailers. The delegation, comprising six Brazilian firms, engaged in a series of meetings and technical visits in Riyadh and Jeddah from May 11 to 16. These engagements featured meetings at the Brazilian Embassy, the Federation of Saudi Chambers, and the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The companies also attended the Saudi Food Show and visited the port of Jeddah, connecting with major retail chains such as Lulu, Al Jameel Foods, Manuel Supermarket, Panda Hypermarket, Othaim Markets, and food trading company Edafat.
Organized under the "Halal do Brasil" project—a collaboration between the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil)—the mission aimed to promote Brazilian halal products in the Saudi market. Participating companies included Suplicy Consulting, Basden, Masterint, Yalla Brasil, Stock, and Pão & Arte. Notably, Masterint and Stock also featured in the Brazilian booth at the Saudi Food Show.
The Saudi market's openness to imports, particularly in anticipation of international events like the 2034 World Cup, presents significant opportunities for Brazilian exporters. Local retailers are actively seeking diverse products, and the Brazilian delegation's meetings with key decision-makers in retail chains underscore the potential for expanding Brazil's presence in the region.
This mission reflects a broader strategy to strengthen economic ties between Brazil and Saudi Arabia, fostering mutual growth and diversification in trade relations.
