British Chamber of Commerce Dubai: Formerly British Business Group

The British Business Group Dubai and Northern Emirates (BBG) has achieved a significant milestone in its evolution, officially adopting the esteemed title of Chamber of Commerce.

This momentous decision, endorsed by both Dubai Chambers and the British Chambers of Commerce, heralds the dawn of a new era as the organization transforms into the British Chamber of Commerce Dubai.

For over two decades, the BBG has been the steadfast representative of British businesses in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, fostering robust trade relations between the UK and UAE. This transition to a Chamber comes on the heels of the group's recent triumph, securing second place in the British Chambers of Commerce Best International Chamber of the Year—a recognition applauded by Dubai Chambers, affirming BBG's substantial support to British businesses.

Andrew Mortimer, Chair and CEO of BBG, emphasized the monumental nature of this change, underscoring the strong partnership with Dubai Chambers and their pivotal role in BBG's growth. Mortimer expressed pride in the transformative journey from a dwindling Business Group to a successful Chamber, highlighting the collaborative efforts of the Board and the accomplished Business Team.

Katy Holmes, General Manager of BBG, acknowledged the privilege of steering this transition, pledging to preserve the group's rich history and commitment to supporting British businesses in Dubai. The shift to the British Chamber of Commerce Dubai is seen as a catalyst for immense growth, collaboration, and advancement for the group and its members.

Aligned with global business standards, the British Chamber of Commerce will fortify collaboration between British businesses and Dubai, seizing opportunities that enhance bilateral trade and investments. The move has received widespread support, including backing from the British Chambers of Commerce, affirming the potential for increased synergy among British businesses in Dubai. The official name change to British Chamber of Dubai is slated for the first quarter of 2024.
