CrowdStrike (Nasdaq: CRWD) has announced the launch of its new Singapore office, solidifying its position as a central hub for CrowdStrike in Asia. This expansion underscores CrowdStrike's regional commitment, doubling the capacity of its previous facilities and reinforcing the cybersecurity leader's local presence in Singapore and across Asia.
As a global leader headquartered in the U.S., CrowdStrike stands among the fastest-growing and most innovative security companies worldwide. With a clientele of over 23,000 customers, spanning small businesses to prominent global brands and government entities, CrowdStrike pioneers AI-powered cybersecurity to preempt rapidly evolving adversary tactics and prevent breaches. The company's acclaimed CrowdStrike Falcon® platform, superior incident response and services, and renowned cyber threat intelligence team have established CrowdStrike as a trusted brand in cybersecurity.
The new Singapore office will host training facilities for CrowdStrike customers and partners, providing opportunities to share best practices in cyber defense strategies and empower cybersecurity professionals with the latest skills to thwart regional threats.
This move follows CrowdStrike's substantial business success in Asia, evident in its third-quarter fiscal year 2024 results. The company reported $81 million in revenue in Asia Pacific (including Japan), marking a 36% year-over-year increase compared to the same period in fiscal year 2023. Asia Pacific (including Japan) contributes to 10% of CrowdStrike's total revenue.
Geoff Swaine, vice president of APJ for CrowdStrike, emphasized the escalating cyber threats in Asia and the imperative for businesses to adopt modern cybersecurity solutions. He highlighted the need for a proactive approach to counter adversaries targeting countries like Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
"Since our establishment in Singapore in 2016, we've witnessed the growing demand for advanced cybersecurity solutions in the region. CrowdStrike has been instrumental in aiding businesses of various sizes and sectors to transition from legacy security systems to AI-driven, intelligence-based cybersecurity platforms," Swaine stated.
Asia has faced persistent cyber threats, as outlined in the CrowdStrike 2023 Threat Hunting Report. The top five industry sectors in Asia Pacific and Japan, by intrusion frequency, include technology, telecommunications, retail, finance, and manufacturing. The region has experienced an uptick in significant cyberattacks, including big game hunting victims leveraging ransomware, highlighting the need for robust cybersecurity measures. CrowdStrike Counter Adversary Operations noted an increase in such attacks in Southeast Asia.
With prevalent nation-state threats within Asia's borders, CrowdStrike's expansion in the region serves as a critical step in fortifying cyber defenses and combatting evolving cyber risks.
