Daimler Truck Financial Services has introduced a rental business catering to truck and bus customers in Brazil. The initiative, under the banner of Mercedes-Benz Locações Caminhões e Ônibus, emerges from a collaborative effort involving Daimler Truck Financial Services subsidiary Banco Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, and the Mercedes-Benz dealer network. Initially targeting small and medium-sized fleet owners, the venture promises a comprehensive range of services.
In Brazil, the company is set to provide rental contracts covering 100 Mercedes-Benz Actros, Atego, and Accelo vehicles, featuring terms spanning 36, 48, and 60 months. These packages encompass preventive maintenance, fleet management, documentation, insurance, and connectivity services, available across over 180 dealerships.
Stephan Unger, CEO of Daimler Truck Financial Services, emphasizes the significance of this milestone within their service strategy, aiming to simplify and fortify customers' businesses by integrating products with essential services. This shift aligns with their transformation into a holistic commercial vehicle solution provider.
Acknowledging Brazil's position as South America's largest truck market, the company notes a significant gap in the rental market compared to the U.S., constituting only 2% of the heavy trucks fleet. Hilke Janssen, president and CEO of Banco Mercedes-Benz, underscores their commitment to tailor-made solutions for customers, ensuring alignment with their business requirements.
Bernd Barth, head of Daimler Truck Financial Services in Europe and South America, emphasizes the value addition to the customer ecosystem through innovative service bundling. Looking ahead, Daimler Truck Financial Services plans to extend its rental offerings to additional markets, bolstering its support for Daimler Truck commercial vehicles globally
